COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVES

Community Representatives are appointed by a panel of Board members following a public call for nominations and a subsequent selection process. Community Representatives maintain regular links with community groups and are available to the public to ensure that issues are brought forward.

Hilary Allison

After many years as a regional manager of government community development programmes across the Lower South Island, Hilary Allison has been involved at a governance level with a number of community organisations such as the Community Trust of Otago and the Otago Community Hospice (Board). Currently Hilary is Chairperson of Anglican Family Care Trust.

Gillian Bremner
|
 |
For the last 14 years Gillian Bremner has been the CEO of Presbyterian Support Otago, an organisation that employs 1100 staff in services for older people and child and family services throughout Otago. Gillian is also a Director of Habitat for Humanity and sits on the regional allocation committee for the JR McKenzie Trust and the Dunedin Casino Trust.

PRACTICE NURSE REPRESENTATIVE

Kathy Whyte

Kathy Whyte is a RGON (Christchurch), having graduated in 1977. Since then she has worked in a number of hospital settings including Auckland, Christchurch, Oamaru and Dunedin, which has enabled her to gain wide clinical experience and expertise before moving into Primary Health nine years ago. Kathy is currently employed as a sole charge Practice Nurse four days per week at Gardens Health. Kathy considers that Nursing has been a long and privledged career.

GENERAL PRACTITIONER REPRESENTATIVES
General Practitioner Representatives are elected by a peer voting process managed by South Link Health (Independent Practitioners' Association). General Practitioner Representatives communicate regularly with their peers to ensure that issues are addressed.

Dr Jill McIlraith

Dr Jill McIlraith has been a General Practitioner at Aurora Health Centre in South Dunedin for 15 years. She is a teacher for the Royal New Zealand College of GPs, which involves training doctors for general practice.
Jill has a particular interest in sexual health and adolescent medicine, is married to a neurologist and has a teenage daughter.

Dr Craig Pelvin

Dr Craig Pelvin is a General Practitioner at the Gardens Medical Centre in North Dunedin, with part time roles in the Dunedin Hospital Emergency Department and the Fracture Clinic at the Urgent Doctors and Accident Centre. His special interests are childrens health, acute care and injury management.
Craig grew up in Dunedin and graduated from the University of Otago School of Medicine. He is married with a son at primary school.

IWI REPRESENTATIVES

Iwi/Maori Representatives are appointed by the local Runaka. The trustees communicate with the Runaka and with the Iwi/Maori community.

Victoria Bryant

Victoria Bryant is from Te Runaka Otakou.
Victoria is a registered nurse with post graduate qualifications in child and family health. She has 13 years experience in public health nursing and 2 years in leadership management. Her special interests are in promoting whanau ora, achieving health and wellbeing through meditation, reiki and outdoor activities -particularly waka ama. Victoria and her partner live in Dunedin and have 3 children and 1 grandson.

Suzanne Ellison

Suzanne Ellison is from Karitane and is Manager of Kati Huirapa Runaka ki Puketeraki.
Suzanne's background is in iwi/community development, having spent 10 years leading runanga development within Ngai Tahu Development Corporation. Suzanne also has a strong interest in cultural heritage and the arts, which has recently seen her appointed to the Board of the Ngai Tahu Fund following 2 terms on the Board of Te Waka (the Maori arm of Toi Aotearoa/Creative NZ).
