| Well Dunedin Healthy Homes Programme |
The EECA's EnergyWise home grants programme funds improvements to insulation and other energy efficiency measures of homes throughout the country. For people with a community services card the grant is 60% of the total cost of insulation.
With the Well Dunedin Healthy Homes programme homeowners pay only $200 and Landlords just 30% of the total cost. The cost of insulating an average home is $3600 meaning a landlord would pay just $1080.
There is an eligibility criteria, with referrals currently sourced through the Asthma Society. This programme is targeted at occupiers who hold a community services card and have a respiratory condition.
Core improvements include: adding ceiling and/or underfloor insulation and draught-proofing doors, hot water cylinder wrap and pipe lagging. |
