Language Line - Free Interpretation Service
The doctor or practice nurse calls the Language Line and requests the language required. A female or male interpreter can be asked for if necessary. Within two minutes the patient and doctor or nurse will be connected to an appropriate interpreter and the interpreting session can begin, using either a speaker-phone or a standard telephone. Language Line uses only qualified professional interpreters who have police clearance, comply with a code of ethics, and have signed a confidentiality agreement
