Applications for Primary Health Care Funding – Update 7 December 2011
Well Dunedin has, until recently, been known as Well Dunedin Primary Health Organisation, and was responsible for delivering primary health care services across Dunedin. In 2010 the Southern District Health Board established the Southern PHO and as a consequence Well Dunedin is winding down its operations.
As part of this process, Well Dunedin has residual funds to disburse. Community and health organisations have been invited to apply for grants for projects that support primary care based projects over the value of $10,000.
This is a one-off process targeted at supporting delivery of primary care health services in chronic care, health promotion and service innovation. Grants will be made to organisations for projects that develop supporting infrastructure and workforce capability which contribute to the future of health improvement for the people of Dunedin.
Please note all submission deadlines have now passed.
The Expression of Interest process (EOI) attracted over 100 applications for primary care related funding. Each application was reviewed at a detailed level to assess eligibility to progress to Stage 2 (Full Proposal Development) of the process.
Negotiations were held with over 60 applicants for preparation and submission of Full Proposals. The complexity of assessing these final submissions has necessitated an extension to the assessment timeframes. It is expected that final recommendations will be forwarded early in December for consideration of the Well Dunedin Health Trust Board in mid-December.
Applicants will be advised in writing of the Board’s decisions mid- to late- December.
